From Dave Ghamandi, Managing Editor of Aperio:
Aperio, UVA’s open access press and a service of the UVA Library, is seeking faculty volunteers to fill our Advisory Board.
Interested full-time faculty are encouraged to submit an expression of interest. The Library will assemble this Advisory Board of 5-7 UVA faculty members in the spring 2022 semester. The Advisory Board will primarily be responsible for reviewing proposals for journals and other digital publications (ex. open educational resources) that fall within Aperio’s scope. In addition to vetting proposals, board members will offer guidance and support to Aperio’s editors and the Aperio Management Team.
Board members will serve a three-year term with the option to renew for a second term. After onboarding is complete, the Board will meet quarterly. The Aperio Management Team strives for the broadest possible representation of the disciplines and units served by the University Library. We also seek faculty who share a commitment to the Library’s values for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Aperio Management Team will begin reviewing submissions on January 5, 2022.
