Alderman Renovation takes steps forward in state legislature

Update from John Unsworth, University Librarian & Dean of Libraries:

It is budget season in Richmond, and over the last couple of days the funding for the Alderman renovation has taken some significant steps forward. Below are links to the legislative actions themselves:

In short, the Alderman renovation project has been added as an amendment to both the House and the Senate budgets: the House budget put in for $132M in government funding, and stipulated $20M in non-government (UVA) funding. The Senate budget doesn’t specify an amount, but does name the project as part of a pool of capital projects to be funded. So far, so good!
